Welcome home

I am employed! Yay! I now have a 40 hr weekly job. Hooray. I can pay for my rent with one week of work. Wow. It's so different. Money ROX. Especially when I don't have to do sucky customer service jobs. ;)
By the way, this Friday is the opening of the Silent Hill movie. I'm making some stuff to wear. If you'd like to come with me, I'm probably going to the Meridian 16 up heres. Let me know if you wanna meet up.
<3
~Kelly

I Am Legend.

First off, yes I did get the internship if you didn't already know. I am writing this on a break at work. I however, do not get paid. *sad* Oh well. Anyhow, things are kind of interesting lately, last night I went to a wrap party for Cthulhu, the movie I will hopefully be getting my 3d stuff in! It was fun, the director is very nice and I got some free food and sodee pop.
As for my subject line, I just finished this rad book by the same name, by Richard Matheson. It's the book that inspired George Romero to create "Night of the Living Dead," and thusly, our modern idea of the zombie. It was really good, I read it all in two days, however, I have to say that the ending is a big bummer! I'm usually not unwilling to accept a bleak ending, but the hero is so... heroic dammit!
Anyhow.. um, them's the breaks.

Well I got the big news today; tommorrow is my last day at work. I thought I was doing pretty well, but apparently they're laying off more people this week, and then some more the next. I'm not too upset, as it's not really what I want to do for a living, but I thought I was pretty good, so I didn't really expect to be laid off before the last group remaining. I believe there are only about 10 more people out of the 150 people first hired, so that's not shabby, but I'm still depressed. Le sigh. I've been working on some things for my portfolio, and have enough money to pay another month's rent, so I guess I things could be worse. :/ Be careful what you wish for eh? I was just complaining this week about needing a break. So here's a permanent one! Tee.

Being positive sucks. -_-

Anywayz, I saw the new Narnia movie with Christopher Shelton, and it was fun! Jade made delicious food last night, cocoa with a candy cane, chocolate chip cookies, baked potato soup, and bread with mozarella cheese. *drool* Also, I've been talking with Dov and Christopher about working on an Angry Girl video game! I think it would be neat. My idea is kind of a cross between kirby and old mario bros. Like the side scrolling type, and she has an 'anger gauge,' rather than a life meter. All the people around make her angrier, and hitting them or hurting them makes her less angry. Bwahah. I think it would be fun. At any rate...... I better go back to work. Wowwwweeeee! *Jumps into pool of caramel pudding*

Cheap stuff rox

There was a big 'garage sale' at Nintendo yesterday. I was only able to go to the second day, due to my 'associate' status, but I still got some good stuff. For ten bucks, I got an N64 and all the trappings, some pokemon games, (For a quarter each, so sue me.), an SNES console, some Mario greeting cards from the early '90s and some weird dinosaur SNES game. Heehee. On Monday I bought a DS with my tenative extra money from not having to buy a bus pass, and having cheap rent. I've been playing the new Animal Crossing tons, it's great! I love the wireless connectivity, I keep connecting with people I've never met at work, and making friends.
Gah! Gotta go.. time to train. @_@

That's right pipplez. (Thanks Jade.) I get today and tommorrow off, 'cuz I'm starting the full CSR training, and I can be a real living boy! Today I spent some time wandering alone on University Way, checking out some of the shops, and then wore myself out reorganizing my apartment and finally getting completely unpacked. Then, I took a three hour nap, bwaha. It's been great so far. Tommorrow I'm gonna do some more chores, check out a couple shops that were closed, and then work on some painting mayhaps. I'm exciting to start the full training, it goes for three weeks. (So far only four peepz out of my class are getting it.) I am taking this as a good sign that they plan to employee me for longer than January. I do have to miss sculpture workshop this week, :/ Which is lameo. I am Mansfield-deprived. *sigh* Well anywayz, thought I'd just give everyone the run-down.

Phew, I thought I was tired on Monday! Le hah! I am at 'home' back in Milton, it feels so good. I missed it. ;~; Jade and Dov were rad temporary roommates though, they rocked. I loved their yummy dinners and watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer together. It made me not miss home so badly. :) Tomorrow I am gonna help move my stuff up to my apartment, I am a for real resident of the Wilsonian apartments for a whole year. I'm so excited. My aunt bought me a mini fridge and microwave!!! I am so excited, I was planning on eating granola bars and handy packs for a month. :3
Monday is the opening of the Nintendo wireless phone lines, I luckily don't have to start until Tuesday. It's gonna be tough, but I think we all are really well trained. I still haven't played MarioKart DS!! I could have way back on Monday. : / I was thinking about buying my uber cheap refurbished DS before Christmas, but I can't decide if that's a bit extravagant or not, heehee. This week had been great, I think after the first day, it's gotten a lot easier. I met a friend from AIS that works here too, so that's great! I think I know my stuff well, and it's going to go pretty well on Tuesday when I start. I even will get off early enough to go to sculpture.
Today was my certification tests, ZOMG they were hard. We did like 5 fake calls with actual trained CSRs pretending to be consumers. I was still taking calls at 7:05. ;O; I was sweating bullets all day, but I feel pretty durn confident now.
I've been reading Haunted by Chuck Pahlahnik on my breaks, and playing Dr. Mario. I also got my cubicle today, with gamecube and all. I think I will try to hookup a SNES. :3 Bwahah. It's somewhat gross and dusty though, so I'm going to have to mega clean it.
ROWR!!!!!! I'm tired, heehee. <3 <3 <3

*edit* I nearly forgot, my mom did so much nice stuff when I was gone. She packed all my stuff for me, and got me a bunch of stuff for my apartment. She is the best ♥♥♥

YAY!

I am finally home from my first day at Nintendo. I am incredibly tired, I've been gone since 7:45 AM. Tommorrow will be a lot shorter, I know. I am staying at Jade and Dov's, (who are ultra nice and I <3 them,) until my apartment gets finished and I can move in.
Anyway, plus-es about working at Nintendo:

* Free arcade games during breaks and lunch, including Dr. Mario.
* Get to try out wireless games before everyone else.
* Access to huge database on like, every nintendo product ever. (To look up information, not to have ;O; )
* Employee discount!
* See life size Mario walking around for no reason.
* Mario cafe is yummy, and features no blocks to jump on.
* Charge free ATM
* Virtual boy to play! :O
* Gamecube at desk

and naturally, the bad parts... (at least, perceived so far)

* Lots of people seem cranky/too serious (a shock.)
* Classes are pretty tough
* Super strict attendance policy
* Oh yeah, did I mention you can't be more than FOUR MINUTES late, or early. @_@
* Can't check out games, yet. ;O;
* Hours are long, and gotta work on holidays
* Probably gonna be cranky people on the phone.
* Bus pass will cost 100 bucks a month. *weep*

Over all, it seems tiring, strict, and fun. Weird combination. I'm finally working out the kinks in the bus system. Note to self: 15 minute bus ride = 1 hour of walking. *cries*

NOW I EAT!!

I've completely forgotten to write this in here: my graduation/portfolio presentation is March 24th, a Thursday, starting at about 10 AM, though you can come in anytime before 1. Early and on a weird day I know. I would really like it if my buddies could come! You don't need to dress up or anything, unless you wanna. (I have to.) There's free food over in the other campus, plus I'll probably give you a candy bar for some reason. You can watch my weird cartoons, and fool everyone else into thinking you are an employer. (It's fun!) Anyway, please let me know if you wanna come, or um, just come with a big fat surprise or something. If you need directions or whatever, check out www.ais.edu or axe me. The graduation ceremony is at Benaroya Hall but it would be a lot more interesting, and I'd prefer it, if you could come to the portfolio presentation <3

PS I'm sorry to anyone I've been MIA to, it's not on purpose, I just have a lot of regular beatings scheduled :(

GO SEE SAW

BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR!! ARGH.
In other news, I had a lot of fun this weekend. This is the first time I've been home for more than an hour since 6 AM Friday. Friday I went to a really fun Halloween party at school, and then spent the night at radical Jade's house. The party was great, everyone wore a great costume, and I ate wayyy too much free cake and candy. Jade put up some great pictures
I spent the night over there, and we played Katamari Damashi (Spelling???) and that game is AWWEEESOME. I love it. Then on Saturday, took the bus back home, and hung out with my momma and then got in a Crazy 88 costume for Kenny's party and headed out there. That was a lot of fun, Kenny is a good cook. We watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which wasn't as bad as I expected. I spent the night there, and played a ton of Silent Hill 4 which freaked me out to no end.
After THAT, I went home for about another hour, and went to see Saw with Joe Jack and my new friend Mike. OMG it is so good, I just got home a bit ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. I highly, highly recommend it! If you liked Se7en, you'd definitely like this one I think.
So anyway, I am so freakin tired, and I gotta go to school tomorrow. I love Halloween, but this weekend was like one inch from being too busy. My head is spinning, ugh.. too.. much.. sugar....
Anyway, I hope all of you had a wonderful Halloween.

ERASERHEAD "ROCKS"!!

Well it might not, but it was really good. I'd been wanting to see that movie, seriously since I was in middle school. I was finally able to watch it today, and it was as good as I expected. It really nauseated me, but it was great at the same time. There were a lot of things that really touched me too, little things, ways characters would fidget, or make a face that really intrigued me. If anyone is into surreal films, I highly recommend this one. There are some fantastic ''sculptural' pieces in this movie, for lack of a better word. Particularly the baby, and the... worm/fetus things. Now you are surely intrigued. There is a really nice use of animation, and lighting as well, which I really can appreciate.

Anyway, now that I'm done blathering about that... Does anyone have a good movie/web site that I can use for research into my "haunted house" project? I'm creating a haunted plantation house in 3d. I'd particularly like to see any actual abandoned plantations, movies that take place at one, or even just good sites about plantations, or hauntings of any kind. Also, movies with the 'french' architecture commonly found in New Orleans, big southern mansions, that sort of thing. I'd really appreciate it.

Rah!!! I hate waking up at 6 AM when I don't have to be at school until 4.

Mostly just writing this to show off my icon, thanks to Jade.:) I finally downloaded Eraserhead, I'll watch it soon! Yay! Oh yeah!! Also, I have a web site up at http://www.geocities.com/kelly_destructo. All the parts aren't up yet, and I need to add new stuff, and take old crappy stuff away, but it's a start. WHEE!!
(By the way, it says borfy.com but it isn't. I need to buy that still. I have no money.)
